Coach Rob has been a certified professional boxing trainer for over 25 years, training both professional and amateur boxers. Coach sparred with legends like Mohamad Ali.He is a passionate advocate of health and fitness among youth and runs several programs in schools, local communities including in deep interior first nation villages. He regularly appears of radio, TV and quite active on social media. "My mission is to Educate, Motivate, Train and Empower my student to achieve their ultimate goal to be the very best they can be."

The Fitness and Health Promotion program at TLUPS provides students with the skills and knowledge to live a more fit and healthy lifestyle. This also allows them to counsel others to achieve their personal health and lifestyle goals. This year round program prepares students to perform the roles and responsibilities of fitness and health interns volunteers and even as student counsellors.

Fitness and health consultants plan, promote and deliver a wide variety of services including activity and educational programs that can enhance the health, fitness and well-being of individuals and groups in diverse settings. Participants have the opportunity to obtain internationally and nationally recognized certifications in Group Fitness and Personal Training.

Field placements provide training and experience, contributing to the overall marketability of graduates.

Expected learning outcome

The graduate of the program has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
Conduct assessments of fitness, well-being, and lifestyle for peers and effectively communicate assessment results.
Prescribe appropriate physical activity, fitness, active living, and lifestyle programs to enhance health, fitness, and well-being of peers.
Utilize appropriate interviewing and counselling skills to promote or enhance health, fitness, active living, and well-being of peers.
Collaborate with individuals in the selection and adoption of strategies that will enable them to take control of and improve their health, fitness, and well-being.
Develop, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, and events which respond to identified needs and interests of clients and maximize the benefits of health, fitness, and well-being.
Train individuals and instruct groups in exercise and physical activities.
Contribute to community health promotion strategies.
Identify and apply, and contribute to the local and global community through social responsibility, economic commitment and environmental stewardship.
